I have been in the Dance, Health & Wellness industry for four decades. The roots of classical ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary dance laid a solid foundation as I headed into my adulthood adding the health and wellness industry to my knowledge and expertise of Breath, Mind & Body Balance. I was 60 when I started with Pilates classes. Besides other reasons, I joined with the main reason of strengthening my legs, especially the upper legs, as I was suffering from heavy tired legs. It was a huge effort for me to climb 7 stairs up to our bedroom. My legs were so weak that I could not stand up easily from sitting on the couch.
By starting with only one class per week, I noticed a difference within the first 2 months. My legs no longer feel so tired and heavy.

3 years ago (2012) a friend came to me and told me about pilates. I started off with the first class at edge fitness gym with Liz as the instructor. After x3 classes I could feel my muscles were much more flexible and moveable. I could walk, bend and move much easier than before. I lost 3kg of weight without trying to loose it.
I would recommend pilates for anyone with moving or balancing problems and will continue with pilates for as long as I am able to.

Pilates has gradually and positively helped to shape my life and body at an age where growing old has become a daily reality.
Thanks to pilates, stooped shoulders, and a possible dowager's hump, have disappeared. Flexibility and mobility are holding steady. Kneeling and climbing ladders are no problem. I have become acquainted with my own body, it's strengths and weaknesses and how to work maximally within its limitations. Pilates aids focus and concentration. The future is not in my hands however I am responsible for my own health and well-being, both mentally and physically.
I find Pilates a Powerful ally.

I am a qualified Latin-American/Ballroom dance teacher with more than 30 years of experience and registered with The South African Dance Teachers Association, the oldest internationally recognized Dance Organization in South Africa, continuously keeping myself updated with the latest "crazes" in social and professional dancing.
Whether you are a beginner or an experience dancer, I will be teaching you to dance in a hurry or improve your existing dance style.

Marisa Crespi Castiglioni
I was born in Italy an immigrated to our beautiful South Africa as a baby with my parents and siblings. I worked as a Hostess for SAA in Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg. After moving to Italy in 1990 I was asked to teach at LIUC University in Castellanza where I taught in the faculties of Business Administration and Engineering.
I took early retirement and moved back to S.A. where, for want of something to fill my days and to give my daughter "Angie" something enjoyable to do - I joined a group of Linedancers and, what can I say?
I fell in love with dancing. So much so that last year October 2014 I took and passed, with distinction, The U.K.D.C. Dance Teacher Exam. I sincerely hope to pass on to others just how gratifying and pleasurable dance can be.
Dance is for EVERYONE and the benefits are unlimited!
